Kitchen Assistant
We are looking for a kitchen assistant with an excellent level of kitchen management and food preparation skills to assist the Granny Smith’s Cafe Kitchen team in preparing and cooking our range of menu items. The menu has breakfast offering, light lunches, daily specials and a range of home baked goods including cakes and scones.
You will be responsible for and required to:
- Work along-side our chefs on a day-to-day basis, assisting with opening and closing of the kitchen, and prepping food for the day, allowing the shift to run smoothly
- Maintaining a great working relationship between both the back and front of house team, ensuring that communication is clear, concise and professional
- Preparing each of our dishes, ensuring that they are safe, presented well and served to the highest standard
- Assist with daily and weekly cleaning schedules to ensure that the kitchen is always as clean and as tidy as possible
- Rotate and monitor stock, so that we are always selling the freshest of goods
- Communicating details of menu changes to all team members, so that brand standards are maintained, as well as customer safety in regards to allergens and dietary requirements
- Working alongside management to ensure that the business as a whole remains compliant and safe with HSE regulations, to protect all team and customers
- Maintaining safety and food hygiene standards in all working areas according to the food safety guidelines
- Check and maintain equipment to ensure that it meets health & safety regulations, and to inform management if there is an issue

Own transport would be recommended due to the semi-rural location of the site.

Working Days: 5 days a week including one weekend day
Holiday: 33 days as standard – 3 days held back for Christmas
Bank holidays are always worked.
Experience:
Catering: 1-2 years (Preferred)
Licence:
Level 3 Food Hygiene (Essential)
We can provide refresher training if needed.
